![]() The Truth about Romanism is a compilation of eBook editions (PDF) of more than 40 rare and costly volumes that tell the truth about the Roman Catholic system and its history. From the groans of Inquisition dungeons to the drunken merriment of papal palaces, these books document the long war that God's people have waged against religious tyranny, darkness and oppression. While we live in a day of tremendous advances in knowledge and communication, ignorance of the history and practices of Rome is more prevalent than ever before. Vast numbers of professing evangelical Christians cannot name one martyr. New Evangelicalism has effectively sought to remove the division between the true Christian faith and the baptized paganism of Rome. The CD contains more than 14,000 pages of information. As an extra bonus, this CD contains more than 450 high quality images including the complete set of images from a 1685 edition of The Martyrs Mirror and the complete set of images from a 1641 edition of Foxe's Book of Martyrs. The Truth about Romanism contains an indexed search engine so that you can perform searches across the entire disc. Titles include A Letter from Rome by Conyers Middleton, Alien Rome by Bertrand Tipple, An Exposure of Popery by William Anderson, Auricular Confession and Popish Nunneries by William Hogan, Awful Disclosures of Maria Monk, Danger in the Dark by Isaac Kelso, Dowling's History of Romanism , Fifty Years in the Church of Rome by Charles Chiniquy, Foxe's Book of Martyrs, Inventions of the Roman Catholic Church by Lorraine Boettner, Martyrs Mirror by Thieleman Van Braght, Papal Paganism by J.A. No, He supervises this world, and He is concerned with every day-to-day detail. Most living things move or change shape in response to high-speed wind or water movement. Take leaves, for example. As the wind increases, leaves automatically change shape with respect to the wind direction so that they offer less wind resistance. Holly leaves fold up and over each other along the branch, cutting the area exposed to the wind by over 50 percent. The same is true of an entire tree. As the old saying goes, the tree that bends with the wind is less likely to break. Even people, when faced with a strong wind, walk and move differently than in a light breeze. Recent scientific studies on the amount of drag which living things have has shown that living things generally offer less than half as much drag as non-streamlined objects like buildings. In fact, living things have 30 percent less drag than modern streamlined automobiles. God has not missed any details in His design of the creation. Modern technology has yet to come up with better designs, even in this simple area of engineering. Nothing has been left to chance! Photo: Courtesy of Jürgen Howaldt. The Second Lateran Council of 1139 ruled that priests are forbidden to marry. In a 2012 interview, Pope Francis (then Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio) said that celibacy "is a matter of discipline, not of faith; it can change" ("Is Pope Francis Open to Optional Celibacy?"National Catholic Reporter, Mar. 19, 2013). He added, "For the moment, I am in favor of maintaining celibacy." The Catholic Church has been loosening up on required "celibacy" for decades. It has done this by allowing non-priests to do some things once done only by priests, and it has done this by allowing married Anglican priests to convert to Romanism and retain their position as priests. Rome's "celibacy" has always been a scandal. Many books have documented the moral filth that has been part and parcel of the Catholic priesthood. In recent decades the Catholic Church in America has paid over a billion dollars to settle lawsuits brought as a result of child-molesting priests. Writing to Eugenio Scalfari, founder of La Repubblica, the pope said: "You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don't believe and who don't seek the faith. I start by saying--and this is the fundamental thing--that God's mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience" ("Pope to Atheists: See You Upstairs, "National Post, Canada, Sept. 12, 2013). This statement made big news, but there is nothing here that evangelicals have not been saying for decades. In fact, this is yet another way in which Roman Catholics and evangelicals are "coming together." It is another aspect of the building of the end-time, one-world "church." The book More Than One Way, published in 1996 by Zondervan, offered "four views on salvation in a pluralistic world," and three of those views offer hope for those who do not personally trust in Jesus Christ. In his 2011 book Love Wins, "evangelical" Rob Bell taught that atheists can be saved without being born again. Richard Mouw, President of Fuller Theological Seminary, told USA Today that "Rob Bell's Love Wins is a fine book and that I basically agree with his theology" ("The Orthodoxy of Rob Bell," Christian Post, Mar. 20, 2011). For decades Billy Graham has been saying that it is possible for someone to be saved without personal faith in Jesus Christ, and there has been no outcry from evangelicalism, including from Graham's own denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention. In an interview with McCall's magazine, January 1978, entitled "I Can't Play God Any More," Graham said: "I used to believe that pagans in far-off countries were lost--were going to hell--if they did not have the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached to them. I no longer believe that. ... I believe that there are other ways of recognizing the existence of God--through nature, for instance--and plenty of other opportunities, therefore, of saying 'yes' to God." Graham repeated this sentiment in interviews in 1985, 1993, and 1997. The mute swan and trumpeter swan can weigh 30 pounds with a wingspan of eight feet. The adult male is called a cob; the female, a pen. The baby swan is a signet or cygnet, and a batch of cygnets or eggs is a clutch. A group of swans is called a bevy or lamentation, and a group in flight is called a wedge. Most species of swans are migratory. Swans mate for life or at least for many years and build on the same nest each season. During the mating ritual, the male and female touch bill-to-bill and beast-to-breast to form a heart shape. The nest is about three feet across and is built on the ground near water. The male helps build the nest as well as assists in incubating the eggs. The baby swan hatches in just over a month and swims with its mother within a couple of days. Gray at birth, it becomes white in about a year. Both the female and male swan with eggs or chicks are fierce opponents of any perceived threat and can inflict serious injuries with their strong wings. Most of the six or seven species of swans are white, but the Australian black swan is black with white on the wings and has a red bill, and the South American black-necked swan is white with a black neck and head. In the 12th century, the Crown of England claimed ownership of all unmarked mute swans on the River Thames, the first pair having been given to Richard the Lion-Hearted for his part in the Crusades. The mute swan is a tourist attraction in Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Not native to the area, some were brought in as pets in the 1920s but the small population had died out by 1954. Responding to a plea for help, Queen Elizabeth II donated two royal swans, and the birds made a dramatic come back from that original pair. The rattlesnake has two sets of eyes – one set for light that is visible to us and another set for infrared radiation. But one thing that creatures with vision all have in common is that sight requires some form of light. While some creatures, like cats, are supposed to be able to see in the dark, they cannot, in fact, see any better than we can in a room that is too dark. However, cats and many other animals are able to see more clearly than we can at light levels where our eyes become useless. One of the main reasons for this is that their eyes have a reflective layer of cells below the light receptors. So, if a particle of light – called a photon – misses a light receptor on its way into the eye, it is reflected back through the light receptor cells and gets a second chance to register. It is this reflective layer of cells which makes it look like your cat’s eyes are glowing in the dark. The great variety and abilities of sight that we find in different creatures perfectly fits each of their lifestyles and needs. Truly, the Lord has provided perfectly for each one of them. Forty percent of Jews in France are buried in Israel, in spite of the tens of thousands of dollars in expense for air travel and burial plots ("Why Are Jewish Dead Flown to Israel for Burials? CNN Belief Blog, March 21, 2012). A tomb in Jerusalem can cost $25,000. One motive is the belief that those buried in Israel will be resurrected first when the Messiah comes. Jews who are not purely "secular" are looking for the Messiah but not the Messiah of the Bible. They aren't looking for God manifest in the flesh, though their prophet Isaiah said the Messiah's name will be Immanuel or "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14). They aren't looking for a Saviour from sin, though their prophets plainly stated that the Messiah would be wounded for their transgressions (Isa. 53:5). When we asked a Reformed Jewish rabbi in Israel, "How do you purge your sins?" he replied, "We ask God for forgiveness through prayer and through actions." No, they are looking for the Messiah of vain Jewish tradition, and he will come in the form of the Antichrist. In 2012, a representative of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem told us: "Only someone who does specific things can be called the Messiah: The one who brings Israel back to Israel; the one who builds the temple again; the one who makes Israel go according to the commandments. After that he can be called the Messiah." This is a description of the Messiah as a Super Problem Solver, which is exactly how the Antichrist will present himself at first. "And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence" (Genesis 50:25). That is, we had gills like a fish, then our heart developed from two-stage to four-stage, and at one point we even had a tail like a monkey. Unfortunately this myth, based upon fraudulent work done in 1866, can still be found as evidence for evolution in some school textbooks. Certain evolutionists say that even our arms go through the evolutionary stages, looking like the fins of a fish at one point. Many people are fooled by these arguments that are not even close to the truth. The fact is, the human embryo’s arms are always human arms. Their tissue, and the tissue from which they develop, is genetically nothing other than human. They may not look like an adult’s arms as they develop, but then a baby’s arm doesn’t look like a construction worker’s arm either! What’s more, despite the similarity in mechanical design between a human arm, a lizard’s foreleg, a seal’s flipper or a bird’s wing, each of these creature’s forelimbs develops from a different part of the embryo. As Christians in a modern scientific age, we need not ever be afraid of what true science will discover. True discovery clearly bears witness to God! We expect it! This course contains a large section on the refutation of evolution. The package consists of a 360-page apologetics course (both print and eBook editions are supplied) plus 20 professional PowerPoint presentations featuring 2,253 slides dealing with archaeology and evolution/creation science. The presentations contain high quality photos and video clips of artifacts from major natural history museums and other sites in several countries, such as the Museum of Man, the Yale Peabody Museum, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the American Museum of Natural History, the Field Museum in Chicago, the British Museum of Natural History, the Florissant Fossil Beds, the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta, the Lucy traveling exhibit, Life on Earth traveling exhibit, Michigan State Natural History Museum, the Burke Museum of Natural History, North Carolina Natural History Museum, the Erasmus Darwin House, and the Australia Museum. The PowerPoint slides deal with natural selection, mutations, the fossil record, homology, the peppered moth, Darwin's finches, the fruit fly, Lucy, the Laetoli footprints, vestigial organs, the horse series, the embryo chart, the Miller experiment and the primordial soup myth, whale evolution, archaeopteryx and bird evolution, and billions of years. The presentations also deal with two great icons of creation: the monarch butterfly (metamorphosis, migration, beauty, pollination) and the trilobite. Shem Dharampaul, M.D., radiologist says: "This is an excellent resource for every Bible Student and the slide presentations are excellent! The material is pertinent to the young and the mature in the faith and is effective for equipping all Christians. The course content is neither too shallow nor too deep and is engaging and absorbing. I went through some of the slide presentations with my twelve year old son and sixteen year old daughter, and they found them fascinating. I believe that the format would be easily teachable." David Stone, Ph.D. physics, says: "I believe you have hit the right level for introducing this material to young people. You have done your usual thorough job in research. Outstanding pictures, diagrams, reasoned arguments. I hope that many iBaptists order your course. There is a woeful lack of education on this subject in the IFB churches." Both function and form are united with the mechanical and biological needs of the fish to produce intelligent, beautiful, yet simple solutions for their needs. Fish are designed so that water, containing oxygen, is taken in through the mouth and expelled from behind the gill flaps. At both these points, the inward and outward pressures on the fish are the greatest. The result is the most efficient system possible – many fish need expend no extra energy to breathe when they swim. Fish tend to have their eyes located at the point on their bodies where water pressure while swimming is zero. This is important since the curvature of the cornea of the eye determines the focus of the fish’s vision. It could be disastrous to the fish if its vision changed as swimming speeds varied. The fish’s heart is located over one of the points in its body where the outward pressure is greatest. While the heart muscle works by contraction, the outward pressure on the surrounding surface of the fish allows easy re-expansion of the heart for the next beat. If fish had gears and pulleys instead of their much more sophisticated biological machinery, no one would deny it was carefully engineered by an outside intelligence. According to the report, "Mary has been one of the strongest symbols across the Middle East for unity, across religions, tribes and nations." Millions of Muslims have allegedly seen Marian "apparitions" in Egypt and Syria. In 1968 and 2009, nearly two million people claimed to have seen Mary's image above a church in Cairo. Since 1982, "Mary" has allegedly appeared in a house in Damascus. Called Our Lady of Soufanieh, the place remains a place of ecumenical prayer for Christians and Muslims. It is possible that this deluding spirit will be one of the means of uniting Muslims and nominal Christians to receive the antichrist and his prophet. The Mary apparitions always preach a false gospel of Christ plus works and therefore are of the devil. "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:13-14). Psalm 96 speaks about the “trees of the woods rejoicing”, and Isaiah 55 speaks about the trees “clapping their hands.” Is this just figurative language or can trees really have emotions and even praise God? Actually, science has known for some time that trees are able to communicate with each other in several ways. Rapid communication can occur downwind by releasing chemicals called pheromones into the air from the leaves. Slower communication can take place using similar chemicals through their root systems. But now, a physicist in Oregon has accidentally found yet another way trees communicate with each other and very rapidly. Ed Wagner was studying the flow of sap in trees and started finding voltage readings in the trees. With more research, he discovered that trees generate a standing wave formation that not only travels in the tree, but also through the air to other trees. These waves, he finds, correlate with what the tree is experiencing. The blow of an axe not only causes a tree to send out strong waves, but the surrounding trees respond with a similar, but less emphatic reaction. Can tree communication also praise God? Now that we know that trees can literally talk to one another, there is every reason to believe that they also literally praise their Creator, just as Scripture says. The conviction rate in dowry-related crimes remained a low 32 percent, according to statistics the bureau published last week. Indian law prohibits the giving or receiving of dowry, but the centuries-old social custom persists." (Fox News, Sept. 7, 2013) ![]() Genesis 1:25 “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” According to the Bible, God created the land-living insects, and that would include the bees, on day six of creation. This was just three days after He created the flowering plants. According to evolution, bees evolved from a simpler insect after the pollen-bearing plants had developed. The specialized bee and its complex social structure was thought to have taken a long time to evolve. Creationists, who believe the time line of events laid out in Scripture and reject inflated evolutionary years, were not surprised when a bee was found preserved in amber which evolutionists said was many millions of years older than the oldest known bee. The almost perfectly preserved bee is like modern bees and can even be identified as a worker. Not only does this show that bees, with all their superb specializations, were around much earlier than ever thought by evolutionists, it also shows that they were around for some time before this specimen lived. In fact, the evolutionist who reported the findings admitted that there is a real problem explaining how bees could have developed nearly at the same time as pollen-bearing plants. As creationists, we have no such problem. Bees were created, fully formed, only a few days after pollen-bearing plants. Science has shown us once again that the biblical history makes more sense than the evolutionary story of history. Notes: Origins Research. Fall/Winter 1988, p. 7. Photo: Courtesy of Treesha Duncan.
