![]() Genesis 1:31a Evolutionists and creationists alike enjoy gazing upon the elegant seahorse swimming lazily about the aquarium. However, only creationists are able to see that the seahorse bears the unmistakable stamp of design – all the way from the top of its horse-shaped head to the tip of its unique square tail. Yes, I said square tail. This striking design makes the seahorse considerably better at gripping and grasping than if it had curved sections in its tail. When you look closely, you will see that the tail is made up of about 36 square-like segments that progressively taper off in size along the length of the tail. By using a 3D printer to duplicate the tail and submitting it to crushing tests, an international team of researchers has now discovered that the squared sections also provide the seahorse with much better armor than a cylindrical tail. "Almost all animal tails have circular or oval cross-sections – but not the seahorse's," said Michael Porter, lead investigator and assistant professor in mechanical engineering at Clemson University. Porter's research group is now using 3D printing to help them develop new structures and robotic systems. Although evolutionists will tell you that the seahorse's unique tail only appears to be designed, they act as if the tail really was designed! After all, how intelligent would it be for them to pursue new technologies based on the tail of a seahorse that has no intelligence behind it at all? Just remind him that mutations are harmful. Yes, there are many mutations that are neutral, but beneficial mutations are only a figment of the evolutionist's imagination. The truth is that mutations typically bring about deformities and death. Such is the case with the tiny mutation that changed a harmless organism found in the intestines of humans and animals into a bacteria that resulted in the bubonic plague. I am talking about the genetic alteration of the Yersinia pestis bacterium. Research conducted at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has discovered that a single, tiny genetic change fundamentally altered the bacterium into a killer that took the lives of more than 75 million people in 14th century Europe. In this case, the mutation caused what is known as the "black death." In other cases, mutations cause cancer and a host of other deadly diseases. Think about it. Why would dentists cover your body with lead shielding when you get dental x-rays if the radiation might bring about a beneficial mutation? As this new research makes clear, mutations are harmful and can even bring about the death of millions. Neither do mutations lead to new species. If anything, they lead to the extinction of species. Despite the evidence, evolutionists persist in claiming that mutations plus natural selection over millions of years add up to all forms of life on our planet. However, the lack of beneficial mutations is the kiss of death to evolution. Notes: "Tiny genetic shift led to 'The Black Death' and worse," Digital Journal | Science. The Christian Post reports that during an in-flight press conference on his return trip to Rome, Francis stated, ‘We Catholics have some--and not some, many--who believe they possess the absolute truth and go ahead dirtying the other with calumny, with disorientation, and doing evil. They do evil. The Psalmist represented the thinking of the true man of God when he said, “Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way” (Psalm 119:128). On his trip to Africa, the pope focused on unity between Christians and Muslims. He said that all “religious believers” need to “support each other as members of our one human family; for all of us are God’s children.” If this is true, we wonder why the Lord Jesus Christ said to some people, “Ye are of your father the devil” (John 8:44)? The tiny seal (bulla) was found in 2010 in the Ophel at the foot of the southern wall of the Temple Mount, but recently it was more carefully analyzed by Reut ben-Ariyeh. It has a symbol of a two-winged sun, two ankhs, and an inscription in ancient Hebrew that is translated, “Belonging to Hezekiah (son of) Ahaz king of Judah.” The bulla originally sealed a papyrus roll tied with thin cords. The symbols of the winged sun from Assyria and the ankh from Egypt, show the pagan influence that had permeated Israel in that day, even in the court of the good king Hezekiah who led the nation in revival. Doubtless he gave the symbols different meanings than they had in their original pagan context, but the fact remains that he borrowed symbols of idolatrous sun worship. This is the first time a seal bearing the name of a king of Israel was found under a controlled archaeological excavation. Others exist, but they turned up on the antiquities market. Their leader shouts: "Hey, don't eat that! We have to wait five seconds!" Apparently, that's what many of us must think. According to the well-known five-second rule, it is safe to eat food that has fallen to the floor if we pick it up in less than five seconds. If you follow this rule, you're in good company. Research shows that 87 percent of people said they would eat food dropped on the floor or that they've already done so. Professor Anthony Hilton, from Aston University's School of Life and Health Sciences, has now shown that there's some truth to the five-second rule. Food picked up just a few seconds after being dropped really is likely to have less bacteria on it than if it is left on the floor for a longer period of time. Bacteria are also less likely to contaminate food dropped on carpeted rather than hard surfaces. And bacteria are much faster at jumping aboard moist than dry food. However, Professor Hilton warns, "Consuming food dropped on the floor still carries an infection risk as it very much depends on which bacteria are present on the floor at the time." He adds, however, that the findings of this study "will bring some light relief to those who have been employing the five-second rule for years, despite a general consensus that it is purely a myth." Even more surprising is that it accomplishes this amazing feat using jet-propulsion! Yes, though they were once only rumors, we now know that a certain kind of squid can emerge from the water and streak through the air at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. A team of Japanese marine biologists have actually photographed Japanese flying squid doing just that in groups. Jun Yamamoto at Japan's Hokkaido University describes how they take flight. The squid normally swims backwards through the water using its fins. But after taking in a large quantity of water, the squid forcefully ejects the water through a nozzle near its head and becomes airborne. "Once they finish shooting out the water," Yamamoto said, "they glide by spreading out their fins and arms. The fins and the web between the arms create aerodynamic lift and keep the squid stable on its flight arc. As they land back in the water," he said, "the fins are all folded back into place to minimize the impact." Of course, it didn't take long for evolutionists to claim that these squid evolved all the parts necessary to fly so that they could escape from sea-going predators. But as it turns out, Japanese flying squid face even more formidable predators in flight – like the albatross. So once again we see that the evolutionary explanation just doesn't fly. While swimming just below the water's surface, the fish can simultaneously check the world above for predators, such as birds, while viewing the surface and depths below for food." Evolutionists at one website point out that the fish's "two large, bulbous eyes are positioned on the upper side of the head" and are "split horizontally into two sections by a band of tissue. The upper lobe is flattened while the lower lobe is rounded, allowing it to see clearly both above and below water." The lens of the eye also changes in thickness from top to bottom to deal with the different refractive indices of air and water. It is nothing less than the front line in the battle between two incompatible faiths. In step-by-step fashion, Zindler described how he reached that conclusion. "The most devastating thing that biology did to Christianity," he said, "was the discovery of biological evolution." In other words, he starts out by declaring that evolution has been proven, which, as you know, is very far from the truth. He goes on to say that evolution means that Adam and Eve never really existed. In his own words, "Now that we know that Adam and Eve never were real people, the central myth of Christianity is destroyed." And why is that? He continues, and I quote: "If there never was an Adam and Eve, there never was an original sin. If there never was an original sin, there is no need of salvation. If there is no need of salvation, there is no need of a savior. And I submit that puts Jesus, historical or otherwise, into the ranks of the unemployed." Yes, atheists foolishly think that evolution is the death knell of Christianity. In reality, biology – with its established fact that life comes only from life – points directly to our Creator. Biology is actually the death knell of atheism and evolution. Notes: Frank Zindler quote taken from debate with William Lane Craig held in 1993 at Willow Creek Community Church. One of their fundamental differences is their view of homosexuality. Charles believes that homosexuality is a sin and that homosexual marriage is absolutely wrong, based on the Bible, while Andy holds a broader, more “tolerant” view based on a “consensus.” In the book The New Rules for Love, Sex and Dating, Andy says, “My purpose in writing this book was not to push a religious or even my Christian agenda.” So much for God’s command to “preach the Word” (2 Timothy 4:2)! At an event in April promoting his “change maker’s” organization called Catalyst, Andy said, “We need to decide, regardless of what you think about this topic [homosexuality], no more students are going to feel like they have to leave the local church because they’re same-sex attracted or because they’re gay. At the International House of Prayer, Floyd will join hands with one of the world’s most radical groups of charismatic mystics, as well as with Roman Catholic praise musician Matt Maher. The International House of Prayer is most assuredly one in the spirit with Matt and his love for the mass and prayers to Mary. IHOP is passionate about “Jesus,” but it is a false christ and a deceiving spirit masquerading as the Spirit of God. And this frightful reality is created by the soul-blinding power of contemporary worship. Even the most conservative elements of the Southern Baptist Convention have long been drunk on this music, unwittingly drinking of a deceiving spirit, an ecumenical spirit, a non-judgmental spirit, unwittingly building a bridge to the one-world church, so that today there is no ability to resist it. Even the most conservative Southern Baptist leaders, from Al Mohler to Charles Stanley, by their silence, support the bridge building done through contemporary music. Matt Maher, who will join the SBC president at the IHOP conference, leads the “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament” at Catholic Churches, such as Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe which is devoted to Mary, “the Mother of Life.” The “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament” refers to the worship of the consecrated host of the mass. Because of the supposed power of the Catholic mass to transform bread into the very body and blood of Jesus, the host is “adored” as Christ Himself. This is the type of apostasy with which every lover of contemporary worship music joins hands. Stuart Townend and the Gettys, whose music is promoted now by Bob Jones University, Frank Garlock, and the Hamiltons, are friends with Matt Maher and have joined him in ecumenical ventures. “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them” (Romans 16:17). One of the only objects he wasn't able to "blend" was a crowbar. He didn't even try. Though the videos might crack you up, they remind Creation Moments of something that's really quite serious. Many people throughout history have tried to blend Christianity with other religions to make it more acceptable to people of other faiths. But all they end up doing is stripping Christianity of its power, its truth and its Savior. Webster's dictionary defines "syncretism" as "the combination of different forms of belief or practice." From the earliest days of Christianity, syncretism has been a blight on orthodox, biblical Christianity. It has taken many forms and has been successful at deceiving millions. Even today there are people who are trying to blend the "Bible" with "evolution" – as in theistic evolution. But like that crowbar, the Bible and evolution just will not blend. Without knowing it, however, many Christians have "blended" their beliefs with the belief systems of non-Christians. You might be surprised to know how many people believe that men have one less rib because God took a rib out of Adam and used it to make Eve. The fact is that men and women have 12 pairs of ribs in our chest. However, modern science may now be able to explain why God chose to make Eve by using one of Adam's ribs. A research team from USC has reported that humans and mice are able to re-grow removed ribs within a matter of months. The rib, in fact, is the only bone in our body that can regenerate itself. When the researchers removed rib sections and its surrounding sheath of tissue – called the "perichondrium" – the missing rib sections failed to repair itself even after nine months. However, when they removed the rib – but left its perichondrium – the missing rib entirely repaired itself within one to two months. As one creationist group explains it, "Many doctors know about this feature of the rib being able to regenerate itself. Quite often they will very carefully remove a rib and use it to rebuild or replace things like damaged jaw bones and eye sockets. Not only does the patient get their face reconstructed, but in time the rib grows back and they are as good as they were before the surgery." These alien beings supposedly left traces of their visits all over the world – from the pyramids of Egypt to the Nazca lines in southern Peru. Of course, Creation Moments does not agree with Von Däniken's conclusions. Neither does mainstream science. However, we believe that Darwinian evolution helped to make the ancient-astronauts theory somewhat credible. After all, evolutionists tell us that ancient man slowly evolved upwards. For most of mankind's history, we were supposedly little more than brute beasts, lacking both intelligence and technology. With this in mind, science was unable to explain the many out-of-place artifacts that Von Däniken wrote about in his books. The Bible, however, tells us that mankind – going all the way back to the first man – has always been intelligent and technologically savvy. In fact, while Adam was still alive, his grand-kids were already fashioning things out of brass and iron and making musical instruments. It was the rejection of biblical truth that made it impossible for scientists to explain ancient technologies and out-of-place artifacts we've told you about on other Creation Moments programs. Perhaps if scientists had believed the Bible, the notion of ancient astronauts from outer space would never have taken off. Notes: Creation Moments, Inc., P.O. However, we do have some thoughts about the whole Jurassic Park movie franchise. Though these films are entertaining, Christians need to be aware that the films are also promoting evolution by claiming that modern-day birds are descendents of Jurassic-age dinosaurs. The fourth film in the franchise – Jurassic World – wasted no time in making this point. As the film begins, the movie screen is filled with the image of a dinosaur claw emerging from an egg, followed by a shot of the dinosaur's malevolent eye. After a sound effect of a screeching dinosaur, you see a close-up of the claw, but the camera pulls back to reveal that what you're really looking at is the claw of a modern-day bird. Evolutionists and creationists, of course, won't fail to see what is being taught. Meanwhile, the general movie-going public receives a not-so-subtle message that the birds we see today are a product of evolution. Many evolutionists, however, thought that the latest Jurassic Park film didn’t go far enough. They were outraged that the dinosaurs didn’t have feathers all over them. How fitting that evolution is being taught in science-fiction movies! That's where it belongs! Ironically, the very existence of the Jurassic Park movies tells a story, not of chance and evolution but of design. After all, weren't the films intelligently designed by writers and directors who left absolutely nothing to chance? Notes: © Universal Pictures (Fair Use). Creation Moments, Inc., P.O. Box 839, Foley, MN 56329 www.creationmoments.com ![]() “Even before I learnt that the main target of the Paris massacre was a theater until recently owned by Jews, I had been wondering whether we Westerners were reaping the consequences of ‘dancing with the devil’. ... London Mayor Boris Johnson referred to the perpetrators--Islamic State terrorists--as a ‘death cult’, which it certainly is. But what commentators seem deliberately to have missed--along with the Bataclan concert hall’s Jewish connection--was the link between such evil extremism and the dark nature of the concert that claimed most of the lives lost last Friday night. The Eagles of Death Metal band had apparently just started a song called Kiss the Devil when the gunmen opened fire and the auditorium morphed into the devil’s domain. Fantasy became reality, with one witness describing it as ‘hell’. ... Hardly anyone in the media talks of biblical prophecy. Yet that would shed an awful lot of light on this dark subject! Just one example of this is that the world would be full of violence--as in the days of Noah--in the time immediately preceding the return of Jesus to set up his kingdom of peace. Politicians have referred to the Paris massacre as an ‘attack on civilization’. But my response is: what civilization? We seem obsessed with dark and lurid fantasy, and with images of violence in our living rooms. We congratulate ourselves on our culture of ‘freedom’, bought at a great price in two world wars and, before that, with the blood of Christian martyrs who went to the stake for the cause of publishing God’s Word, now discarded and thrown to the winds, only to be replaced by moral relativism where there are virtually no rules for living; where we promote death (through abortion and euthanasia, for example) and set about ‘redefining’ marriage, family and society as a whole. Homophobia and Islamaphobia are among the many politically-correct don’ts to have replaced the Ten Commandments. ... Tragically, however, our moral defenses are down, our walls have been breached, and the foundations of our Judeo-Christian civilization have been undermined. That is why we are wobbling as a society in grave danger of collapse. I can’t speak for France and the rest of Europe, but as far as Britain is concerned, time is running out. ... We were once a great nation sending missionaries around the world to share the life-changing (indeed, nation-changing) good news about Jesus. But now we have thrown out what was once most precious to us. Jesus told us to build on the rock. But we have built on sand.” “Dancing with the Devil” by Charles Gardner, Israel Today, Nov. 19, 2015 |
