Genesis 1:20 Creation Moments isn't in the business of reviewing Hollywood films, and we're not about to start now. However, we do have some thoughts about the whole Jurassic Park movie franchise. Though these films are entertaining, Christians need to be aware that the films are also promoting evolution by claiming that modern-day birds are descendents of Jurassic-age dinosaurs. The fourth film in the franchise – Jurassic World – wasted no time in making this point. As the film begins, the movie screen is filled with the image of a dinosaur claw emerging from an egg, followed by a shot of the dinosaur's malevolent eye. After a sound effect of a screeching dinosaur, you see a close-up of the claw, but the camera pulls back to reveal that what you're really looking at is the claw of a modern-day bird. Evolutionists and creationists, of course, won't fail to see what is being taught. Meanwhile, the general movie-going public receives a not-so-subtle message that the birds we see today are a product of evolution. Many evolutionists, however, thought that the latest Jurassic Park film didn’t go far enough. They were outraged that the dinosaurs didn’t have feathers all over them. How fitting that evolution is being taught in science-fiction movies! That's where it belongs! Ironically, the very existence of the Jurassic Park movies tells a story, not of chance and evolution but of design. After all, weren't the films intelligently designed by writers and directors who left absolutely nothing to chance? Notes: © Universal Pictures (Fair Use). Creation Moments, Inc., P.O.
