![]() 2 Timothy 3:12 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." What if explorers actually found Noah's Ark? Would it instantly change unbelievers into followers of Jesus? Would scientists suddenly drop their belief in an old earth and millions of years of evolution and start believing the Bible? No, they would not. We've already seen how evolutionary-minded universities treat scientists who discover soft tissue in dinosaur remains, showing that dinosaurs couldn't possibly be millions of years old. They fire such scientists. Many other instances of the persecution of Darwin-doubting scientists can be found in Dr. Jerry Bergman's excellent book, Slaughter of the Dissidents. In this book he shares story after story of scientists who have lost their jobs, who have been denied tenure, and whose careers have been abruptly ended. Dr. Bergman's book is dedicated "to those who have paid a high price for the discrimination they have suffered while taking a stand for freedom." Indeed, Bergman relates how creationists are often demoted, transferred to other departments, and ridiculed, while some even receive death threats. Discrimination and persecution of Christians are on the rise all over the world. In some countries, Christians aren't just losing their jobs, they're losing their lives. We must pray for them, and we must not be caught by surprise when persecution comes to our door. When our faith is tested in the crucible of fire, we must pray for God's grace, knowing that He will have the victory no matter what happens to us. To God be the glory!
