“And they shall see his face” (Re. 22:4). Under the law, Moses was not allowed to see God’s face (Ex. 33:20), but the redeemed saints in the New Jerusalem will see it. The face they will see is the face of Jesus. The knowledge of the glory of God is seen in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Co. 4:6). Jesus is the express image of His person (Heb. 1:3). Christ’s face is the face of the Creator God, the face of pure holiness, the face of unfathomable love, the face of infinite wisdom, the face of prudence and witty inventions (Pr. 8:12), the face of almighty power, the face of the one “whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting” (Mic. 5:2), the face of the Ancient of days (Da. 7:9, 13, 22). The human face is an amazing creation. It is the face of the individual soul. Even “identical twins” are not identical. Martin Schoeller, a portrait photographer who has photographed more than 100 identical twins, says, “Once you see them side by side in the same light and the same camera angle, you come to realize how different most twins look” (“Why identical twins look different,” The Globe and Mail, Apr. 30, 2018). The face reflects the individual’s intelligence and character and feelings. It has been called “the organ of emotions.” Knowledge of the face (“reading people’s faces”) is an important law enforcement tool. The face has a set of about 20 flat muscles, called the mimetic muscles, that enable it to reflect the full range of human emotion. They are controlled by the facial nerve which is in turn controlled by the mind and spirit. They are the only muscles that insert into the skin. A study by electrical and computer engineer Aleix Martinez found that the face makes 21 emotional expressions that differ according to the muscles involved (“Human Faces Can Express at Least 21 Distinct Emotions,” Time magazine, Mar. 31, 2014). The saints know God in Christ and long to see His face. The hymn “Face to Face” says, “Face to face with Christ, my Saviour, face to face—what will it be, when with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me? … Face to face! O blissful moment! Face to face—to see and know; face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loves me so.”

Romans 4:3
“For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”

An interesting question to ask skeptics, when you are defending the faith to them, is this: “How much do you really know?” You can ask further: “Is there anything that you absolutely know for sure?”

If they answer “Yes”, then you are going to ask them how they know it for sure, and show them that there is no firm foundation for their knowledge. Even something as obvious as two times three equals six requires there to be an assumption that this will always be true. How do we know?

Suppose you had one percent of all the knowledge in the universe. Could there possibly be anything in the other 99% of all knowledge that contradicts the 1% that you have? Most people would say that is true. But if that is true, then you don’t really know that 1% of knowledge for sure after all! It is something that is probably true, not certainly true. In this exercise, we are not interested in probable truth.

The only realistic way to know something for sure is if we know someone else who knows everything there is to know, who is completely trustworthy, and who has revealed some of that knowledge to us. And that is precisely our position as Christians. God knows everything because He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. And He has chosen to reveal truth to us through the Bible. So we can be 100% sure of that knowledge because we are 100% sure of Him.

Afraid of what a daughter will cost, many families choose to simply never have one. Despite the fact that gender-selective abortions were outlawed by the Indian government in 1994, the practice still occurs. This is why so many baby girls were ‘missing’ from those northern Indian villages. And it’s just one example of a much larger trend across the country. As of 2018, there were only 92 females for every 100 males in the country. According to the data, India is home to 63 million fewer women than it should be.”

I was already saved when I came across the concept of creation. I already knew the Bible to be true, but I had not fully realized the implications of this for my thought processes as I was studying sciences. So when a friend explained why he did not believe the theory of evolution but believed the literal six creation days in Genesis, and that there had been a real worldwide Flood, I was ready to believe and took little convincing.

To me, the evidence was overwhelming. I could clearly see that the evidence pointed to God having made the world as He said that He made it. The evidence stacked up against the theory of evolution, which no longer made any scientific sense to me.

So, when I started to share my newfound opinions with fellow students at high school, I was surprised that they could not see the evidence as I did. I was ridiculed. This took me by surprise. Why could they not see that evolution was contrary to the Laws of Thermodynamics, for example? All the best arguments I, as a teenager, could muster got me nowhere. My friends did not believe.

Now I know the reason why they would not accept the evidence. It is because the issue has nothing to do with the evidence. It takes a lot more than evidence to break through a person’s worldview. An evolutionary or atheistic worldview prevents someone from getting the evidence. Only the Holy Spirit can break through the worldview barrier.

At that stage, in 1999, the party decided to crack down on it. So, I ended up in the Beijing Female Labor Camp. The first day was feeling like going directly into the hell. For the first moment, we were forced to squat under the baking sun for 15 hours, and whenever someone couldn’t endure it and fainted away, they were shocked by electric batons so that they could wake up. Every day, in the camp, it was a battle between life and death. While I was in the camp, apart from torture every day, apart from hard, forced labor, we were also given repeated physical checkups so that if anyone need an organ we could be killed on demand if we were a match. Fortunately, I told the doctor I had Hepatitis C before I practiced Falun Gong. I was able to be exempted from becoming a victim of organ harvesting. The torture I experienced and I saw was beyond description.’”

Genesis 1:24
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”

The BBC recently reported on its website that scientists from the University of Kent had mapped the genome of a dinosaur. The BBC’s article was not clear on which dinosaur but claimed it was a very early dinosaur – one of the precursors to all dinosaurs.

There was a great deal of excitement when scientists previously mapped the genomes of humans and chimpanzees. This led to the disingenuous and misleading claim that humans and chimps share 98% of their DNA.

But, given that there are no confirmed live dinosaurs in captivity, how was it possible for dinosaur DNA to be mapped? The BBC’s science correspondent reports:

Recently, Prof Darren Griffin’s team used mathematical techniques to identify the possible genetic characteristics of the very first dinosaurs. They did this by working backwards from their closest modern-day relatives – birds and turtles.

Did you spot the undefined false presuppositions in that quote? There is a strong presupposition that both birds and turtles are close relatives of early dinosaurs. However, this is a very big assumption and is not based on any reliable experimental data. Just in case you think this is simply the opinion of a science journalist, this is what the researchers said:

It is perhaps not an unreasonable speculation that both karyotypic and molecular cytogenetic analysis would reveal little difference from a modern chicken, duck or ostrich species.

It is precisely this speculation that creation science finds untenable. Instead of speculation, we build our models on the solid ground of biblical truth.

“Several States across the United States have actively questioned whether a baby, born alive is a human being. At what point, does life begin then? In January of 2019 Virginia Democrats dared to claim that a child, at the moment of birth could still be aborted. Again, according to House Bill 2491, which did not pass in Virginia, an abortion could be requested at the moment of dilation. Further, in New York, a similar piece of legislation did pass. Acting on what is acclaimed by Democrats to be for ‘Women’s Rights’ the bill allows for a woman to abort her child at any point during pregnancy, including the moment of birth. In North Carolina, Pro-Life organizations are attempting to sway legislators to override the Democratic Governor’s veto of a measure they say would ensure newborns delivered after a failed abortion are cared for like any other baby. The Republican-controlled Senate in North Carolina is planning to vote on Tuesday to override the veto and forward the legislation. To accomplish such, the action will require several Democrats and Republicans from the House and Senate to complete the override. The ‘Born-Alive Abortion Survivors’ bill would further protect children who survive botched abortions. To support the bill, Pro-Life organizations included stories of children who were born alive after botched abortions and otherwise left to die. Legislatively, bills across the country from Democratic members of State’s respective Houses and Senate’s are working to pass legislation which calls into question, when does life actually begin. In response to abortion bills and the question of when does life actually begin, some Republicans are working on drafting legislation that could challenge all forms of abortion after a heartbeat is detected. Medically, a heartbeat determines the end of life, and some states are working to claim that, medically a heartbeat determines the beginning of life. In the South, states across the board have passed legislation which makes abortion illegal after a heartbeat is detected. Further, a heartbeat can be identified as early as two weeks, rendering the majority of abortions illegal.”

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Most sightings of UFOs – Unidentified Flying Objects – can be explained as natural or man-made phenomena. Objects that have been mistaken for alien craft include airplanes, satellites, weather balloons, lightning and the planet Venus. But there remains a hard minority of cases that cannot so easily be explained away. Such sightings may sometimes include abductions. Whatever you make of such things, it is clear that the subject has experienced something. It may not be what they think they experienced, but they have been affected in some way. And in most cases, such experiences of alien abduction are traumatic. The experiencer has in no way enjoyed the experience and is frequently afraid of the possibility of it happening again.

In his book Alien Intrusion, creation speaker Gary Bates describes the attempted abduction of a man named Bill. He was being levitated and taken away into a mist. In his fear and pain, he cried out, “Jesus, Jesus, help me!” He then recounts:

“I felt like it [the experience] was withdrawn, and I fell. I hit the bed, because it was like I was thrown back in bed.”

What sort of alien abduction can be halted by the name of Jesus? How can speaking the name of Jesus send the alien UFO away?

The answer is that these entities are not aliens from outer space. They are masquerading. They are demonic forces and spirits, intent on deception. But they cannot stand up to one whose Name is above every Name – Jesus Christ our Lord!

Clothing is a language, and never has that been truer than today. Consider Mary Quant, the revolutionary British fashion designer of the Beatles era. This year, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London has a major exhibit on Quant, inventor of the miniskirt and hot pants and a major popularizer of trousers on women. The focus of the exhibit is revolution, liberation from biblical morality, and breaking down the barriers between the sexes (unisex, androgyny). There is no attempt to hide this. Quant put women in men’s attire: pants, ties, suit jackets, and short hair. One display, entitled “Boys Will Be Girls,” says that Quant “subverted menswear.” “Trousers are considered inappropriate for women [but] Quant wears them anywhere she wants.” Mary Quant knew that trousers on women in modern Western society is not an issue merely of comfort and freedom of movement. Following are some other quotes from the exhibition signage: “using fashion to question hierarchies and gender rules,” “a rebellious approach to established gender norms,” “mocking religion,” “an independent style,” “self-expression,” “freedom.” “The miniskirt became an international symbol of women’s liberation.” “[Quant’s] provocative styles reflected increasingly relaxed attitudes in society towards sexuality in all its forms, reinforced legally by the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1967.” Quant also broke down barriers between ages, dressing women in girl’s fashions. She said, “I didn’t want to grow up.” The 1960s was a major changing of the times, and the moral revolution was driven by a technological revolution. It was the dawn of the era of color television, color printing, international mass marketing, and global merchandising empires. Why were Quant’s fashions so popular? Why does a Quant exhibit at a major art museum draw thousands of eager visitors? She helped create the modern ME culture, the “lovers of their own selves” generation prophesied in 2 Timothy 3:2. The music, the fashion, the entertainment, the commerce, everything broadcasts the message, “It’s your life; live as you please!” and fallen man has loved that message ever since Mamma Eve believed the devil’s tale, “Ye shall be as gods.” It’s all a terrible lie. No one gives himself life. We own nothing; we are God’s creatures in God’s world. “Behold, all souls are mine ... the soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4). “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). The Good News is that an atonement is available in Jesus Christ to fully satisfy my sin debt against God and I can be saved, but the Bad News is that if I die without Christ I will spend eternity settling an account with God that will never be settled.

Isaiah 45:18
“For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”

One of today’s most popular beliefs is that aliens have traveled from another planet to visit our world at various times in the past. Some of the alleged sightings of these aliens have become very well known. Documentary films have been made, but also fictional accounts of such alien visitations have stirred the public imagination.

We have discussed UFOs and aliens in a previous Creation Moment and concluded that they did not exist. The idea of alien lifeforms fits quite nicely into an evolutionary worldview. After all, if life evolved here on Earth, it could have evolved elsewhere in the universe as well.

But alien lifeforms do not fit into a biblical worldview. Genesis 1 makes clear that the Earth was formed on the first day of Creation, whereas all the other objects of the universe were created on day four. This immediately makes a great difference between our world and every other world that there is.

God made this Earth for a purpose, and He made people for a purpose. This purpose was and is focused on planet Earth, so the Earth’s unique situation indicates that its lifeforms are also unique in the universe.

Genesis 8:22
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

In 2007, former US Vice-President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Al Gore warned that there was a 75% chance that the entire Arctic ice cap would be gone by 2014-16. Yet, the ice still seems to be there! In fact, the famed Northwest Passage does not yet appear to have opened up enough for regular shipping through it.

A recent study from Yale University has suggested that the Arctic ice cap is not only under attack from melting at the edges but also in the middle from heat sources at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. One of the researchers says, “Presently this heat is trapped below the surface layer. Should it be mixed up to the surface, there is enough heat to entirely melt the sea-ice pack that covers this region for most of the year.”

Yet, such warnings have been issued many times before. Britain’s Global Warming Policy Foundation – an organization of so-called climate change skeptics – has a compilation of many doom-laden predictions of an ice-free North Pole – all of which have failed to come to pass. The GWPF show that there is insufficient data from a mere 40 years of satellite monitoring to make accurate predictions. And there is a natural cycle of warming and cooling, known as the Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation. This peaked in 2008 and, therefore, North Atlantic temperatures are on their way down again.

Warnings that the Earth’s seasons are coming to an end are contradicted by what God said at the end of Genesis 8.

Genesis 1:12

Some orchids are remarkable. In a previous Creation Moment, we referred to the bucket orchid and its relationship to the orchid bee. There is a very strange orchid in Australia, called the hammer orchid, which seems to fool wasps.

The thynnid wasp is, itself, quite strange. The females have no wings, but emerge from tiny burrows and climb up a plant to await the male wasp, which flies in, attracted by the female’s scent.

The hammer orchid produces a flower which closely resembles the appearance of the female thynnid and even releases a scent similar to that of the female wasp. So, the male wasp flies in, but instead of a female wasp, he finds the flower awkwardly pivoted, and a little hammer knocks him into the anthers to collect pollen. If he is already coated in pollen, then some of this is rubbed off on to the flower’s stamen.

This process cannot be described as co-evolution because the thynnid wasp gets no advantage. One article on the hammer orchid points out that the male wasp would never confuse the orchid for a female if both were side by side. Therefore, the article stated that natural selection has favored plants which flower just before the females emerge. But an incorrectly timed, pre-evolutionary orchid would not have survived to pass on the supposed evolved genes. Therefore, once again, we see that evolution is impossible as a means of explaining this remarkable design.

Job 10:10
“Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?”

I love cheese if I am a little hungry. I am from a land of great cheeses – from light but sharp Wensleydale, to my favorite, the rich, salty tang of Blue Stilton, with its noble cheese mold.

Most of these cheeses actually improve with age. So a five-year-old Cheddar is likely to be richer in flavor than one that was only made last year. So perhaps I would have enjoyed the discovery made recently at an archaeological site at Pokrovnik, on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast.

I have brought up teenagers, so I know the difficulty involved in getting them to wash the pots. But archaeologists discovered some ceramic bowls at Pokrovnik that neither the original owners nor modern discoverers had washed. To their surprise, when they examined the residue, there were traces of lipids, which strongly suggests that the bowl may once have contained cheese.

The exciting find is tarnished somewhat by archaeologists insisting on an evolutionary date. They conclude that the bowls were used by farmers 7,200 years ago. However, this is impossible by a biblical timescale. Besides, if these were early farmers settling in the Balkans, then they would have been post-Flood – so we would suggest a date of 2,200 years ago. Either way, the cheese has probably passed its best-before date. Now I’m just waiting for the discovery of a 2,000 year old Ritz Cracker.

A serious point is to see how early civilizations had advanced technology, probably passed down from their ancestors who were on the Ark.

1 Chronicles 12:32
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

Sometimes there are some tiny passages in the Bible which are easy to overlook but which can open up a wealth of meaning. One such passage is this little verse in 1 Chronicles 12, verse 32.

This verse is part of a section discussing David’s Mighty Men, focusing on their skills in battle. It seems a little different, then, when those from the tribe of Issachar are labeled as those who “know what Israel ought to do”. However, this is surely a very important attribute in battle – and especially in spiritual battle. The reason they knew what to do was because they “had understanding of the times”.

I would suggest that this verse has application to an apologetics ministry like this. We are to apply the truths of creation and Genesis, and in order to do so, we need to have understanding of the times.

In these Creation Moments broadcasts, we often relate our teaching to the society that we live in. To do this, we must understand the times. To understand the times, we need to read, to watch, and, most especially, to pray. Let’s be like those sons of Issachar in our apologetic work and become mighty men and women for Great David’s Greater Son as we proclaim His truth.

Genesis 1:12

The reproductive cycle of a flowering plant is so easy to understand, and yet exists in so many varieties. The principle process for such plant reproduction is pollination.

The male organs of the flower, or anthers, produce pollen cells, or grains. These have to find their way to the female stamen, and thence into the ovary, which contains the ovule cells.

Generally speaking, pollen does not pollinate the ovules in its own flower. So the plant has to have a strategy to get pollen from one flower to the ovary of another flower of the same species. To do this, it employs go-between pollinators.

Have you ever thought why flower petals are so pretty? It is because most plants are attempting to attract insects to act as pollinators. But the insect has to need something that the flower provides. So many flowers produce nectar – a sweet liquid that is desirable for many insects, especially bees and butterflies. Visiting insects will brush pollen off the anthers, and, if they already have pollen from another flower, they might brush that pollen on to the flower’s stamen. But how do the insects know the nectar is there? By the bright petals that the flower produces!

But these features could not evolve by chance. Brightly colored petals deprive a plant of energy. What would be the advantage of that if there were no pollinators? As we think about pollination – especially that of the more unusual plants – we realize that this is a process designed by God.

Job 35:11
“Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?”

There is one activity almost compulsory for visitors to certain parts of Australia. That is to have one’s photograph taken with a koala. While kangaroos may be the most iconic Australian marsupial, the koala is surely the most endearing. Their apparent slothfulness, their large noses and attractive faces make them particularly photogenic. In fact, they are capable of some rapid movement through trees and are not always as docile as they appear.

Apart from their appearance, the other most well-known trait of the koala is its diet. It seems to live almost exclusively on the leaves of eucalyptus trees. Actually, they cannot even eat all eucalypts. They survive on about 30 species of the plant. Eucalypt leaves are rich in a pungent oil, and this would cause most other animals a problem with digestion. Koalas produce cytochrome P450, which is able to break down the difficult chemicals from the eucalyptus oil in a large caecum, attached to the intestines. This sort of mechanism will always raise a question for evolutionists. Did the koala start eating eucalypts first, and then evolved the systems to digest them? If so, would not the first couple of generations have been poisoned before evolution could occur? If the digestive systems evolved before the dietary behavior, then what evolutionary advantage would the koala accrue from such systems?

God has made so many magnificent and wonderful animals all over the world. It is astounding to see the meticulous design produced by our Creator God.

“A colorful character, known for his shock of shaggy blond hair and blustering, entertaining, flamboyant style, Boris Johnson [b. 1964] has had one of the most amazing careers in English politics. A journalist, magazine editor, member of Parliament, the conservative who did the impossible in getting elected mayor of London twice, foreign minister, leader of the radical Brexit movement to leave the European Union, he’s done it all. Johnson’s a celebrity. He clowns around and quotes long passages of Homer in Greek. ‘BoJo,’ as he’s sometimes called, is England’s Donald Trump. Both came to office already famous. Both were international celebrities. Both were known for saying outlandish things, poking the politically correct and infuriating their political opponents. Sometimes infuriating their own party. As of July 24th, that is, when he became the new prime minister of the United Kingdom. He takes office with an unstable razor-thin majority, with many members of his own party opposing him. He’s taken up the almost impossible task of getting the U.K. out of the European Union by October 31st.  Johnson’s election represents his party’s commitment to completing Brexit and leaving the European Union. It expresses the party’s rejection of the European Union globalists, including those in the other major political parties, Labour and the Liberal Democrats. It is part of a broader trend around the world electing conservatives as world leaders. The London Times fired him for making up a quote. He moved on to the more conservative Daily Telegraph. Still, he became the favorite journalist of conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. His writings became a key influence on the Eurosceptic UK Independence Party in the early 1990s. That party’s agitation eventually led to Brexit. He took some left-leaning positions, however, on climate change, LGBT issues and race relations. He became editor of The Spectator, the UK’s top conservative weekly. Tabloids revealed in 2004 that Johnson was having an affair with Spectator columnist Petronella Wyatt, resulting in two abortions. He was married to his second wife at the time. He was fired from his position with the Conservative party for lying about the affair. Another affair led to a child. Johnson became the mayor of London in 2008, the first Conservative to ever achieve that position. He was later confirmed in the Church of England. However, he says ‘his faith comes and goes.’ He’s not a serious practicing Christian.”

Australia, as we have frequently noted, is a land of exotic animals. And of all the strange and wonderful creatures of that continental country, perhaps none captures the imagination so much as the mighty kangaroo and its smaller cousin the wallaby. Although it’s native to Australia, I remember as a child being fascinated by the mysterious sightings of wallabies in England’s Peak District National Park, which was very close to where I grew up. A colony of sixty had, by 1975, grown from five individuals that had escaped from a zoo in 1940.

Kangaroos are marsupials. Though many species of marsupials – mostly opossums – live in the Americas, Australia and New Guinea are replete with a wide variety of them. The main distinguishing feature of a marsupial is that the female gives birth to its young at a very early stage of gestation (about 36 days), and the baby is then sheltered, usually in a pouch, where it continues its development. A baby kangaroo, or joey, will be in its mother’s pouch for about nine months before it begins to venture out for short periods. One fascinating feature of the reproductive cycle is that a female kangaroo can have one embryo in its womb and a developing joey in its pouch. It seems to be able to freeze the development of the embryo and restart it when the joey is ready to leave the pouch. It would seem that God designed this mechanism to allow for the long migration of such marsupials to Australia after the Flood.

“A former Google engineer who claims he has been blacklisted by the tech giant says he believes the company will try to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. ‘They really want Trump to lose in 2020. That’s their agenda,’ Kevin Cernekee said Friday on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight. ‘They have very biased people running every level of the company,’ Cernekee continued. ‘They have quite a bit of control over the political process. That’s something we should really worry about.’ Cernekee was fired in June 2018 after Google told him he was terminated for misuse of the company’s equipment, including its software system for remote access. However, Cernekee, who describes himself as a whistleblower, maintains he was terminated for his outspoken conservative views. Carlson asked Cernekee if he thought Google would try to ‘influence’ the 2020 election and attempt to ‘prevent’ Trump from being reelected. ‘I do believe so. I think that’s a major threat. They have openly stated that they think 2016 was a mistake. They thought Trump should have lost in 2016,’ Cernekee responded.
