Crosslight Church of Singapore is one of the newest rock & roll independent Baptist church plants that are proliferating across the world led by a batch of young, very cool preachers. Crosslight was founded by Chantha Chhim, a Cambodian missionary recommended by Jack Trieber, Eric Capaci, Joseph Esposito, Robert Meyer and Don Sisk of BIMI, and others. See http://chanthachhim.com/recommendations. I contacted Capaci’s church and received an enthusiastic recommendation of Crosslight Church, being told that the Chhims “are a part of our sponsored missionaries here at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.” Crosslight has a full-blown contemporary worship band, complete with a long-haired guitar player and a female praise singer in tights. They play songs by groups beloved by Lancaster Baptist Church, such as Casting Crowns, but Crosslight isn't just dabbling with the stuff like Lancaster. For this we commend them. If you love CCM, don’t mess around; embrace it and don’t try to tame it. Plug in the guitars; roll out the drums; pull out the stops; raise those hands, sway and dance! Paul Chappell and other “old-guard” independent Baptist leaders have given a green light for this by their unrepentant use of CCM and their shallow justification of it. Chhim’s vision is to use Singapore as a base for ministry across Asia. He is “passionate about revival in Asia” and plans to “partner with like-minded leaders for global Gospel impact.” I, for one, am sad that he is spreading his contemporary philosophy. Will the aforementioned leaders repent of supporting Crosslight? It is doubtful, because they set the stage for it with such things as Quick Prayerism, a pragmatic, man-centered philosophy, and the “adaptation” of contemporary worship. In the first edition of On the Origin of Species, Charles Darwin speculated that the whale evolved from the bear: “In North America, the black bear was seen by Hearne swimming for hours with widely open mouth, thus catching, like a whale, insects in the water. ... I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more and more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale” (p. 567). Today most evolutionists believe that the whale evolved either from a Mesonyx, a small, hairy, four-legged mammal similar to a wolf, or from a similar creature called a Sinonyx. The whale evolution chart at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle depicts the entire whale family evolving from a wolf-like animal, and there is a mythical reconstruction of the Mesonyx at the British Museum of Natural History. Consider the following from National Geographic magazine: “The whale’s ascendancy to sovereign size apparently began sixty million years ago when hairy, four-legged mammals, in search of food or sanctuary, ventured into the water. As eons passed, changes slowly occurred: hind legs disappeared, front legs changed into flippers, hair gave way to a thick, smooth blanket of blubber, nostrils moved to the top of the head, the tail broadened into flukes, and in the buoyant water world the body became enormous” (National Geographic, Dec. 1976). Evolutionary fairy tales aside, consider how miraculous it would be for a wolf or any such creature to evolve into the 13 families and 79 species of whales, from the fin-less porpoise measuring four feet long to the blue whale measuring 100 feet. The latter weighs 360,000 pounds, which is the equivalent of 2,500 people or 4,140 wolves! Its tongue is the size and weight of an African elephant; its heart is the size of a small car and pumps 2,640 gallons of blood (Carl Werner, Evolution: The Grand Experiment, Vol. 1. p. 40). The blue whale has to eat a million calories a day, which is equivalent to about 1,000 banana splits. Evolutionists tell us that the blue whale evolved from a wolf-like land animal, and they even have the gall to say that they are “the rational people.”

“Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”

Many people think that evolution is simply any change. Developing a new breed of dog is often referred to by many people as proof for evolution. But is it really? Those who claim that the domestic breeding of crop or animal species has anything to do with evolution take their cue from Darwin, who – although he had no degree in science – made the same claims.

Evolution is not simply change like what we see in domestic breeding programs. You might say that it’s easy for a creationist to say this, but let’s allow a scientist who is neither a creationist nor a Christian make the case for us. In his book Evolution: A Theory in Crisis, Dr. Michael Denton explains that evolution is in crisis for the simple reason that biology offers no evidence that evolution happens. Since science relies on evidence, he is really saying that evolution is not science at all.

Denton, who has spent much of his scientific career studying evolution, adds insult to injury by stating that “Despite more than a century of intensive effort on the part of evolutionary biologists, the major objections raised by Darwin’s critics . . . have not been met.”

In other words, evolutionary scientists have not been able to answer creationist challenges. Or, as we have been saying all along, the Bible does offer an intelligent alternative to evolution!

Lots of folks would like you to believe that only ignorant, backward people reject evolution. But is that really the case? The fact is that the case for evolution is so weak that many scientists who cannot even be called friends of Christianity reject it on scientific grounds!

Back in 1981, Dr. Colin Patterson of the prestigious British Museum of Natural History shocked the scientific world. He told scientists at the famed American Museum of Natural History in New York that he’d been examining anti evolutionary ideas for about 18 months. It finally struck him that, although he had been working on evolution for 20 years, he could not find one fact about evolution that he really knew to be true.

Dr. Patterson said he had asked scientific colleagues at other institutions whether they knew anything about evolution to be actually true. After a lot of silence at several meetings, one fellow scientist finally spoke up at one meeting and said, “I do know one thing – it ought not to be taught in high school.”

Dr. Patterson concluded his talk at the American Museum of Natural History by saying that he finally “woke up and realized that all my life I had been duped into taking evolution as revealed truth in some way.” You see, those who reject evolution are in a lot of good, educated company!

An “evangelical” publisher has come out with a pro-homosexual book by a “gay rights” activist who claims to be a Bible believer. The book God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships by Matthew Vines is published by Convergent Books, “an imprint of WaterBrook/Multnomah Publishing,” which was bought by Random House in 2006. Vines is president of Reformation Project, the purpose of which is “to train Christians to support and affirm lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in all aspects of church life.” The organization’s agenda is summarized as “Advancing the Kingdom, Advancing Equality.” The fable that God can be pleased with homosexuality is a deep spiritual deception that is growing quickly in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4). For God’s thoughts on homosexuality and homosexual “marriage” one need look no further than Genesis 2.

Job 37:14
“Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.”

Cooperation between two different species who depend upon each other for survival is known as symbiosis. This is remarkable enough, but what about cooperation between two different species who don’t depend upon each other for survival? This certainly defies that foundational pillar for the theory of evolution – the survival of the fittest.

Examples of these types of cooperation, found abundantly in nature, have caused a growing number of scientists to listen to arguments for intelligent design – and even abandon mindless evolution altogether. Our example today concerns two very different ant species that live in British Guiana. One species, a large brown ant, lives together with a small black ant. They actually breed and live separately, but in times of danger, they work together as a well trained army.

At first threat to the anthill, the smaller black ants begin the defense. However, if the black ants cannot hold the intruder, the larger, stronger brown ants join in the defense of the hill. Neither ant needs the other, but together each offers the other some benefit. This is called altruism.

One cannot picture ants sitting around a table to work out this arrangement – they must have been created for this kind of relationship by a good and wise Creator. His plan to help these ants, amazing as it is, is nothing compared to His plan of salvation for us through the forgiveness of sins that is in Christ Jesus!

This month marks the 20th anniversary of “Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium” (ECT), a “manifesto” that was a major step toward the formation of the end-time, one-world “church.” It proposed a plan of action for Catholics and evangelicals to search out common ground in an effort to rectify former division and move toward a “fuller realization of our unity in the body of Christ.” ECT was headed up by Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship, and Richard Neuhaus, a Roman Catholic convert from Lutheranism. Proclaiming, “We together, Evangelicals and Catholics, confess our sins against the unity that Christ intends for all his disciples,” ECT was signed by such well-known “evangelicals” as Pat Robertson, J.I. Packer, and Bill Bright. A report on the 20th anniversary of ECT observed, “Two decades after the launch of Evangelicals and Catholics Together, relations between the two groups appear stronger than ever. ... In a 2009 Pew Research Center survey, 49 percent of white evangelicals said they view Catholicism as ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ similar to their own religion. ... In a February survey, Pew found that 56 percent of white evangelicals had a favorable view of Pope Francis” (“Evangelicals and Catholics Together Marks 20 Years,” ChristianHeadlines.com, May 9, 2014). Major elements that are creating the one-world “church” include joint social action, such as the pro-life movement, contemporary worship music, contemplative prayer, and the “judge not” and “in essentials unity” heresies.

Job 21:22
“Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high?”

What if your refrigerator stopped working . . . in August? It would be a real mess! Without refrigeration, we would have to get fresh food almost every day. While the hunting wasp doesn't build refrigerators, it has solved this problem.

It is during the hottest months of the year that the hunting wasp is most active. However, the hot summer months are not the best time to store food that could spoil, especially in the nursery! Hunting wasps eat a very specific species of caterpillar – and caterpillars spoil easily.

When it’s ready to lay its eggs, the hunting wasp will capture a caterpillar and, instead of killing it with one sting, will carefully paralyze each of the caterpillar’s 13 segments one at a time. It then carefully bites the base of the caterpillar’s brain, not to kill it but just to keep it permanently disabled. Then it lays one egg on the caterpillar. As its young grow, the wasp continues to provide specially prepared caterpillars – just enough to keep the young fed and not so many that there will be any spoiled food in the nest.

The hunting wasp’s system seems to be based on far more knowledge than a wasp would be expected to discover all by itself – especially since the cost of failure is the death of the next generation. This certainly looks more like the work of an intelligent, personal Creator than the work of mindless chance!

“On Thursday, May 15, Sudanese Christian Meriam Yahya Ibrahim, 27, was sentenced to death by hanging for the crime of apostasy. Ibrahim, a physician who graduated from the University of Khartoum Medical School, refused to renounce her Christian faith. The Islamist Khartoum regime claims that Ibrahim is a Muslim because her father, who abandoned the family when she was six years old, was a Muslim. Ibrahim, however, embraced for herself the faith of her Ethiopian Orthodox Christian mother. ... The judge reportedly instructed that her execution be carried out once the child has been weaned but that she receive the 100 lashes for adultery soon after she gives birth. Morning Star News also reported that attorneys will file an appeal of the sentence on Sunday, May 18. This will put off execution of the sentence, including the flogging, until there is a ruling. Ibrahim is married to Daniel Wani, an American citizen from South Sudan who came to the United States in 1998. She is in her ninth month of pregnancy with the couple’s second child. Their firstborn, Martin, 20 months, is imprisoned with his mother--Sudanese authorities prohibit the Christian man from caring for his son. ... According to Morning Star News, ‘Ibrahim’s nightmare has included denial of bail, insufficient medical care for both her and her unborn child, beatings in prison, and a U.S. Embassy that has offered little help.’ ...  As reported Wednesday, Ibrahim was also charged with adultery as her marriage to a Christian is not recognized under shariah law. As a result she was sentenced to be flogged before her execution. The draconian charges fall under Articles 126 (apostasy) and 146 (adultery) of Sudan’s Criminal Code which is based on Islamic law.”

Isaiah 55:8
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”

When we discover the unexpected in the creation, we are reminded that reality is much bigger than our small thoughts. That’s a hint! God Himself says in the Bible, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways” (Isaiah 55:8).

This means that when we study our world, we must keep in mind that nothing forced God to make things a certain way. He was completely free. While God made an orderly creation, His logic and His creativity are far above ours. Those who believe in a Creator learn to expect delightful surprises in God’s world. For those who want to say that the world is a result of mindless natural forces, many of these surprises leave them with little idea of how to explain them according to their system.

One of these surprises is found in the strange relationship between the pagurid crab and the sea anemone. The pagurid crab lives in a shell that is really too small to hold it. So the anemone molds itself to cover the crab and attaches himself to the crab. This gives the crab plenty of freedom or movement because part of his living “shell” is pliable. However, the anemone takes advantage of his position by stealing much of the crab’s food. But if the crab is removed from this species of anemone, the anemone will die.

This strange relationship is vital to both these creatures - so far apart on the evolutionary scale. This relationship makes no sense at all unless there is a Creator!

If the first quarter’s pace continues, a record number of more than 5,000 Jews will emigrate from France to Israel this year. The reasons are said to be a “climate of anti-Semitism” and France’s poor economy (“Sharp Rise in French Jews Leaving for Israel,” Breitbart, May 12, 2014). Biblically speaking, the Jews are going home in preparation for the events of end-time prophecy. More than three million have immigrated to Israel since the establishment of her modern state in 1948.

Some scientists are feverishly seeking eternal life through technology. One avenue is GENETICS. Google has funded a company called Calico (California Life Company) to cure old age. Larry Page, founder of Google, believes that there is no need for humans to start dying once they hit their 80s (“Larry Page Lists 5 Things That Google Will Conquer,” Business Insider, May1 5, 2014). Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle and the fifth-richest person in the world, says, “Death makes me very angry,” so he created the Ellison Foundation to find a way to cheat death. Venture capitalist Paul Glenn helps fund the Methuselah Foundation, which claims that “the first person to live to be 1,000 years old is certainly alive today.” Another approach is AVATARS. The goal is to “back up” the individual’s genetic information onto computers and “download it into bionic avatars.” This is the approach of Russian multimillionaire Dmitry Itskov and his 2045 Initiative. He intends to “help humans achieve physical immortality within the next three decades.” Another approach is CRYONICS, which involves deep freezing the body in the hope that future scientific advances will enable the resurrection of the dead. “Once the preserve of celebrities and multimillionaires, cryonics is now gaining traction among the broader public. Three senior staff a Oxford University have signed up to have their bodies frozen” (“How Google’s Calico aims to fight aging and ‘solve death,’” CNN, Oct. 3, 2013). Another approach to gain eternal life through technology is TRANSHUMANISM. The objective is to merge man’s mind and body with technology that would give him superhuman powers and longevity. “Transhumanists envision a day when technology will allow humanity to become so advanced that sickness, disease, poverty and war will essentially be eradicated” (“Transhumanists: Superhuman Powers and Life Extension,” End of the American Dream, May 13, 2014). Elements of transhumanism include organ transplants, nanobots, and bionic limbs. Transhumanist Ray Kurzweil takes 150 vitamin supplements a day “in an attempt to extend his life until more advanced life extension technologies can be developed.” Time will prove that eternal life through technology is a pipe dream. The Bible summarizes the issue of death and eternal life in one verse, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). If all of the world’s resources could be focused on solving the issue of death, the project would fail. Man is not a mere genetic machine that can be made into a cyborg or reproduced as an avatar; he is a living soul made in God’s image. Further, he is a fallen soul who has rebelled against his loving Creator God, and the result is death, both physical and eternal. In His great mercy, God has purchased salvation for sinners at the expense of Christ’s death and shed blood. Those who repent and trust the resurrected Christ as Lord and Saviour are given the gift of eternal life. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).

“If, indeed, Jesus unconditionally forgave those who crucified Him, then, of course, that would mean they had been forgiven without hearing or believing the gospel. Clearly that teaching is heretical. ... On the cross, Jesus did not forgive; He prayed. The same is true of Steven. If forgiveness is unconditional, Jesus, Stephen, and others would have forgiven their murderers rather than use what, if true, would be a roundabout way to do so. We believe also that Jesus prayer was answered. How could that be? Not apart from the means, but by them. Jesus’ prayer was answered in the response to the preaching of Peter and the apostles on the day of Pentecost. They were not forgiven the sin of crucifying the Saviour apart from believing that He was dying for their sins, but precisely by doing so in response to the faithful preaching of the gospel in Jerusalem. We do not have to resort to some strange doctrine of the forgiveness of sins apart from faith in Christ in order to explain Christ’s prayer.”

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

Wouldn't it be amazing if a creature developed a chemical defense that is deadly to practically every other creature but itself – especially if that defense meant exposing itself and its enemy to deadly cyanide?

Yet there is a species of millipede called Apheloria that does just this. Apheloria has, on each segment of its body, special glands that produce the chemical needed for defense. When the millipede is attacked by an enemy, it mixes this chemical with a catalyst. The result is a chemical that is a mild irritant plus hydrogen cyanide gas – the same lethal chemical used in the gas chamber. In this defense, the millipede as well as his enemies are engulfed in a cloud of deadly cyanide gas. His attacker dies, but the millipede simply walks away unharmed.

This truly amazing defense clearly has a purpose. Even more amazing, if evolution is right, the millipede developed this remarkable defense quite accidentally, and at the same time he became immune to deadly cyanide gas! This defense is completely unlikely to develop without a planner. The millipede’s immunity to cyanide makes sense if there was a planner, and it makes no sense at all if there wasn't.

God’s fingerprints are all over the creation as He seeks to draw us all to Himself.

Ezekiel 18:23
“Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”

Did you know that there is a mold that captures and eats animals? Those scientists who reject evolution in favor of creation often stress that there are no simple forms of life. Each kind of life is both specialized and very complex. While evolutionary scientists try to arrange living things from simple to complex, creation scientists ask them to let us know when they finally find a “simple” form of life.

At first glance, mold would seem to be a simple form of life. It doesn't sing, dance or write plays. But neither do a lot of people. However, mold – like every other life form – is still perfectly suited for its needs.

Several forms of mold actually capture and eat animals – in this case, a small worm known as a nematode. Some molds grow sticky knobs that trap the worms. But one, known as the “cowboy lasso” mold, grows tiny loops or lassos. Should an unwary worm try to crawl through the loop, the loop swells shut, strangling the nematode. The worm is then digested at the mold’s leisure. This is much too complex and specialized for a “simple mold” to have engineered. It is too filled with purpose to be the result of purposeless natural laws.

God does not operate without purpose - not when He created mold, nor when He deals with us. His most earnest desire is for a relationship with you and me through Jesus Christ.

Hallmark began selling “gay friendly” greeting cards this year, beginning with Valentine’s Day. A lesbian card for Mother’s Day says, “Moms do it all and they do it with ease, from helping with homework to bandaging knees. ... When it comes to big hearts, moms are second to none. How does anyone ever get by with just one?” Hallmark also sells cards for same-sex weddings and anniversaries. Hallmark spokeswoman Kristi Ernsting said the Valentine’s Day cards were well received (“Sign of the Times: Greeting cards for kids with gay moms,” NBC News, May 6, 2014). American Greetings also carries cards for same-sex weddings and anniversaries. The Greeting Card Association said same-sex Mother’s Day cards are a sign of the times. They don’t know how true that is. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves ... unholy ... despisers of those that are good ... lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Job 12:7a, 8b
“But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee…and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee:”

Of all the creatures which walk, crawl, creep or grow on Earth, which one invented the organ transplant? I’ll give you one hint, it wasn't the human being.

Actually, several creatures perform organ transplants, and the inventor must be God because mindless natural forces could never have worked out the amazing transplants we see in our world.

Sea slugs feed mainly on sea anemones. Sea anemones have stinging cells which, upon the slightest touch, explode, sending a poisoned dart into the intruder. None of this seems to phase the sea slug, who will tear up the anemone and eat it without exploding even one of the stinging cells. The stinging cells do not even explode in the slug’s stomach, nor amazingly, are they digested.

The sea slug’s stomach has narrow channels which lead from the stomach to small pouches in the fluffy spurs on its sides. These channels have moving hairs which sweep the stinging cells out of the stomach, up the channels and to the pouches where they are arranged and stored so that the sea slug can use them for defense. Should a fish try to nip the sea slug, he would be stung by the very stinging cells which had once protected the anemone.

Science tells us that things must have causes. It is hardly scientific to credit an organ transplant, which is more complex and elegant than anything we could devise, to blind natural principles. The Bible has a better and more logical answer!

“Three women in Massachusetts claim they are the world’s first lesbian ‘throuple,’ after they all exchanged wedding vows and ‘married’ each other last year. Brynn, Doll, and Kitten are three women who range in age from 27 to 34. Last August, they organized a wedding-style ceremony, in which they entered into a threesome ‘marriage’ union. Even though Massachusetts recognizes same-sex ‘marriages,’ polygamy is illegal. However, that did not deter Brynn, Doll, and Kitten from entering into a three-way relationship. ‘In our eyes we are married,’ Brynn told The Sun newspaper. ‘We had specialist lawyers draw up paperwork so our assets are equally divided.’... ‘Doll, Kitten, and I may not be the norm but we are perfectly normal,’ Brynn claims. ‘We are simply people trying to live the life that we feel is best for us and we deserve the rights afforded to others.’... Massachusetts officials say they will not reprimand the three women for their polygamous relationship.”

Farming and gardening are said by evolutionists to be very advanced activities. They say that primitive humans did not do these things, and that gardening developed only recently in human history. But if there is a Creator, we would expect that He would have taught many kinds of creatures to care for plants or even trees.

Guess what? There are even ants who garden. There is a particular type of fierce ant that cares for the South American bull’s horn acacia tree. While the ants don’t need the tree for their survival, they do eat portions of it. But they never eat enough to cause damage to the tree. In fact, the ants protect their tree – they snip off vines or other growth that comes too close to the tree, maintaining plenty of growing room for their tree. The ants are aggressive enough to keep other insects or even birds or larger animals away from their tree.

In studying this amazing relationship, researchers have removed the ants from some of these trees. Within two to fifteen months, the tree is dead. Without the ants’ care, animals eat off all the leaves and surrounding plants overrun it.

Who taught these ants to be gardeners? How could two so very different kinds of life develop such a close relationship? This results in a great mystery for evolution. Without ants you couldn't evolve the tree, and without the tree, the ants couldn't learn to care for it. You can’t get around it. Both were created fully formed, and the Creator taught the ants how to care for the tree.

The United Methodists have allowed a lesbian to continue as a preacher in one of their churches. Sara Thompson Tweedy, who preaches once a month at Memorial United Methodist Church in White Plains, New York, is a “proud, active, self-avowed lesbian” (“Methodists Drop Complaint,” OneNewsNow.com, May 7, 2014). Tweedy and her female “spouse” are raising two boys together. Though a complaint was filed, the denomination dismissed the case. Previously, Tweedy was a pastor.

One reason many scientists reject evolution is that it’s impossible to explain even the simplest of the incredible designs we find in creation as the work of a mindless, impersonal force. Imagine the challenge of explaining the many specialized features of the honeybee as the work of no one!

The honeybee has compound eyes that enable it to navigate by the sun even on cloudy days because it has a built in polarized light filter. The honeybee’s antennae contain both their sense of smell and sense of touch. For this reason they must be carefully cleaned. So the honeybees have special grooves in their front legs that are perfectly designed to clean them.

The honeybees also have hairs on their body to collect pollen and baskets on their rear legs to carry it. And they have special glands for producing, shaping and cleaning off wax. When one returns home with news of a good pollen source, the honeybee has a language that it can use to tell the others about it!

Not only is the honeybee a huge collection of special features united together, but they also live in a hive that unites thousands of individuals so that they all work together like a single organism! It simply goes against everything we know from science to suppose that millions of years of unplanned accidents could design and build the honeybee!

David and Jason Benham’s upcoming television show Flip It Forward on HGTV was canceled because of pressure from People for the American Way due to their outspoken stance against homosexuality and abortion. In response, the Benhams issued the following statement: “The first and last thought on our minds as we begin and end each day is, have we shined Christ’s light today? Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man. Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying. ... We were saddened to hear HGTV’s decision. With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it” (“Brothers Yanked by HGTV,” Deadline Hollywood, May 8, 2014). The new program was announced last month. The grossly misnamed organization People for the American Way, a speech Nazi organization that attempts to remove Christian voices from the public arena, cited David Benham’s protests outside of abortion clinics and his statement in 2012 that America’s Christian majority must repent for tolerating “homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation” and “demonic ideologies taking our universities and our public school systems.” The Benham brothers are the sons of Flip Benham, who took over as national director of Operation Rescue in 1994. The next year he baptized Norma McCorvey, who was the “Jane Doe” in the 1973 Supreme Court case “Roe v. Wade” that legalized abortion in America. Through the instrumentality of Priests for Life, McCorvey joined the Roman Catholic Church in 1998, which demonstrates the danger of the ecumenism that permeates the right to life movement. The Bible warns, “mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them” (Rom. 16:17). It is foolish to disobey God’s Word in the pursuit of good. God’s Word is the divinely authoritative definition of right and wrong, and if I am disobeying God’s Word, I am not doing good in God’s eyes no matter how right it might feel or how right it might appear before men.

Many are calling for something to be done about the nearly 300 Nigerian school girls who were kidnapped by the “radical Islamist” terror group Boko Haram. Apparently they are using the girls as sex slaves and selling them as child brides. Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram, said in a video, “I abducted your girls. I will sell them in the market, by Allah. There is a market for selling humans. Allah says I should sell. He commands me to sell” (“Boko Haram Strikes Again,” CNN, May 7, 2014). Breitbart says, “Boko Haram sets schools ablaze. Boko Haram targets teachers and doctors, but above all, Christians. They murdered over 2,596 people in the first three months of 2014” (“Obama Administration: Boko Haram Has Legitimate Concerns,” Breitbart, May 8, 2014). They slit throats and burn people alive. It would be good for the victims if Special Forces soldiers could be turned loose on Boko Harams the world over, no holds barred, until there were no more Boko Harams, but that’s not going to happen in this present world. So perhaps Piers Morgan could lead a team of unarmed gun control activists on a mission to rescue the girls, locked and loaded with good will and sound reason.
