Luke 19:40 In the introduction to his chapter on the origin of life for the book Evolution's Achilles' Heels, Ph.D. scientist Tas Walker points out that "geology has long been considered the solid foundation for evolution." He goes on to write that Darwin "built his theory of biological evolution squarely on then-current theories of geology, especially the work of his contemporary, Charles Lyell." Now, we've told you about Charles Lyell on previous broadcasts. But it's important to stress that Lyell was trained to be a lawyer, not a scientist. So, Dr. Walker notes, "Often without knowing it, geologists owe their current old-age position to the lawyer turned uniformitarian geologist, Lyell." The second thing Walker points out is that Lyell was a man with an agenda. Walker writes, "Lyell was clear about what he wanted to achieve, as he revealed to a colleague in his correspondence. He said his aim was 'to free the science [of geology] from Moses.'" The rest of the chapter is filled with geological evidences supporting a young Earth. But he began his chapter talking about Lyell because "the so-called geologic record has given the historical sciences an earth 'history' of billions of years that allows unobservable biological evolution to seem plausible. Without eons of time," Dr. Walker concludes, "evolution would be dead in the water." Not only is it dead in the water. When you examine the geological evidence, you see that the stones really do cry out they were created by Jesus Christ.
