In a sermon on Sunday, October 6, Gary Hall of the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. said: "We must now have the courage to take the final step and call homophobia and heterosexism what they are. They are sin. Homophobia is a sin. Heterosexism is a sin. ... if we are faithful in proclaiming and living [the gospel], today's generation of LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-sexual] youth will thrive and grow and take their places around this table, with Jesus, as we bless, forgive, heal, and love the world" ("National Cathedral Leader," CNSNews, Oct. 7, 2013). The apostle Peter prophesied of apostate Christian leaders as follows: "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow THEIR PERNICIOUS WAYS; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. ... For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell ... And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person ... And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly. ... The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished" (2 Pet. 2:1-9). Photo: Rev.
