World Vegan Day was November 1. Founded in 1994 by Louise Wallis, head of The Vegan Society, it is devoted to the promotion of vegetarianism and “animal rights.” Biblically speaking, there is nothing especially healthy or spiritual about vegetarianism. God allowed eating meat before (Gen. 9:3-4) and during the law of Moses (Lev. 11:3), and He has renewed this liberty in the church age. In fact, forbidding meat is identified as a doctrine of devils (1 Tim. 4:1-5). There is a restriction against eating blood, though, both in the Old and New Testament dispensations (Gen. 9:4; Acts 15:29).
